This is literally the worst place you can go in Raleigh. I watched a guy put shredded cheese on my nachos without wearing gloves. When I talked to him about it, he said, "it's cool bro, I just washed my hands." Do yourself a favor and hurt walk up the street a quarter mile.

I am honestly baffled at the glowing 4 and 5 star reviews. This place is gross. It smells bad, it's dirty, the food isn't fresh and certainly isn't tasty, and the service is poor. Literally everything that you can do wrong in a restaurant, they do. It's almost like they're trolling. What's worse is how people describe this as delicious Mexican food...that's how you know you're in a small town lol.

Great food, this one is definitely fits the area. Good place to for lunch or a night out.

Best part of my meal was the chips... Plain. The pico was bland, old, and warm. My chicken enchilada plate was so bad my dog literally wouldn't eat it when I tried to give it to him as I only made it like 4 bites in before giving up.

I just ordered a meal from you guys.. customer service SUCKS THEY FORGOT part of my order The manager SAID THAT is Not his problem and that he was Not gonna give me his name when I asked.. he said just know I’m a manager😮 so I had my friend call back to ask who the Manager is and they said ERIC!!!!!!! So ERIC YOU ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and they need to teach you PEOPLE SKILLS AND MANAGERIAL SERVICE to the PUBLIC SERVICE... I am DISABLED I CANT DRIVE

Very disappointed with my order here. We called in an order for pickup and didn't realize until we were home they forgot 2/5 of our meals. When we called they did not even apologize and when we went to pick up the rest of our meals they didn't have it ready and we ended up having to leave without the food due to time restraints. The food we did get was mediocre at best.

Ok, hear me out. Armadillo grill needs to be shut down. And you may be asking.. Luke Yandle? Why would this creatively named place need be shut down? My answer to you would be something along the lines of: THERE WAS A LIVE ARMADILLO ON THE TABLE!! Now this may sound like a joke. But trust me.. it’s not. The waiter named Pegasus was not only disrespected but he straight up brought a real armadillo to a restaurant and set it on my table. I am a retired Vietnam War veteran that was very displeased with my visit. The armadillo tasted great though so I’ll give it a star just because it tasted so amazing- Luke

Worst food experience ever. Only ordered one order of nachos. Stood and waited for 1 hour. It appeared the employees cared very little and worked extremely slow. When I checked in and asked if our food would be ready anytime soon, they told us it would still be awhile. I work in the food and beverage field and I’ve never been less impressed with an establishment. We ended up never receiving our food. Never coming back. Highly recommend you take your business somewhere else. Honestly terrible.

Best cheap mexican food ive ever had

Amazing food! Cashier - Heather - was so awesome and helpful! Definitely will be back at dinner time! Came here a few times and by far the best experience so far! Good customer service really makes for a good restaurant!

I live about 300 yards from this place, and it’s awesome - the place is great. Beers, burritos, nachos, tacos, etc. - it’s all more than worth the price considering how tasty everything is. There is a really mean bartender that armadillo should 86 to keep up their pristine standards 👌🏽

I have not idea what people see in this place. Literally the worst Tex-Mex I've ever had. Also a tad over priced for what you get. I've had the displeasure of trying a few times and regretted every time. Incredibly bland and low quality food and ordering is unnecessarily complicated with there scorecard system.

We waited over 45 minutes after ordering, and ended up leaving without food. We were still nowhere close to receiving our order and they were already out of soft tortillas. It was a horrible experience.

My first time was last week and I enjoyed my time. The bartenders are phenomenal! I was first greeted by the operations manager and when she left Heather came. Both ladies were great. It was my first time there and Heather showed me the ropes on how to order and I appreciated that. I got the queso and believe the hype, it’s good! I got the chicken tacos and they are on point. The rice was not all that good, but that didn’t matter because everything else was great. My friend ordered the steak taco and loved it. She also got the nachos and she didn’t care for it Heather got her something else. The $5 margaritas were the bomb and you can tell that they add fresh lime and make their own mix! I wish I had a picture of the food, but this drink will do! Please check them out and sit at the bar with Heather😘

*Updated review - I’ve come to enjoy this place much more, mainly because of the awesome staff who I’ve met the last couple of times. They are quick and happy to help! Fast, consistent, cheap, and open late for after bar eats. Plus, the salsa is amazing here! I will eat it on its own!

The soft tacos are really what you want to order here, they're made fresh via burrito press and come out just the right texture and taste. Whatever they marinade the meat in is crack and delicious. The wings are really good. The downside is a few staff members seem to absolutely hate their job, but most of the people there are great.

College focused taco restaurant with small bar that features NC craft beers. Decent tacos , about 3.50 each , with decent home made hot salsa . Id rather support an authentic mexican taco joint instead of a college bar but it was cool enough . Bartenders Erica and Steve were helpful and friendly .

Best chips and queso around!!! I love that they make their own tortillas. The tacos are fresh and delicious every time. Friendly service. The nachos are awesome and another favorite of mine. They have a fresh salsa/pico bar (pico is great mixed with queso dip).

Decent food at a good price. Quick and straight forward. I'd go again if I wanted cheap quick nachos.

I don't know why I don't think of this DTR spot more for a quick lunch. I also don't know why I always think I need two veggie tacos when they are so damn generous - one is plenty if you're not famished. For veggies, ask for the queso without meat in it. This is definitely one of the best spots to get in and out for lunch less than $10 (with a small parking lot to boot) on Glenwood South!
